FAQs

What is Open Day?

Deakin Open Day is your chance to explore your future campus and get a glimpse into uni life. Attend course and general information sessions, enjoy entertainment and demonstrations, meet your future teachers, chat with current students about their experience and explore our state-of-the-art facilities. There's no better way to experience everything that Deakin has to offer and see firsthand what sets us apart.

How do I plan for Open Day?

Once you’ve registered, you can start planning your action-packed Open Day with our online planner. Browse all events or use the filters to find what interests you most – course and general information sessions, tours or experiences. On the day, simply log in using your phone and see your plan all in one place.

How do I find buildings on the day?

Once you’ve planned your day, go to the planner to see your events. On the event tile, click on the address and it will open the location in Google Maps. You can also use street view to view the building. On the day, make sure to grab a campus map or ask our friendly staff to help point you in the right direction.

What are the accessibility considerations on campus?

Deakin is committed to providing accessible campuses and facilities for everyone attending Open Day.

Accessible parking is available on all campuses with a valid Australian Disability Parking Permit. If you have a temporary medical condition, you may be eligible for a Temporary Accessible Parking Authority to park in accessible parking bays. To find out how to apply, please email us.

An Auslan interpreter is available to assist you on the day on campus in information sessions, tours and one-on-one course conversations. Upon arrival, please tell our friendly staff if you would like to access this service.

A calming, comfortable and private reset room is available at the campus library (Building B, Level 2, Room B2.44) to support anyone who finds the loud, crowded and busy environment overwhelming.

Where do I go on the day?

We recommend you start your day at our career and course information centre where you can chat to academics and study experts about studying at Deakin. Or you can take a tour of the campus departing every 30 minutes from Building H. The best way to make the most out of Open Day is to use our planner to browse all sessions and plan your day ahead of time.
