What is a Campus Open Day?

Deakin Campus Open Day is your chance to visualise what it will be like to be a Deakin student. You’ll have access to course and career information, meet your future teachers, chat to current students about their experience, as well as explore our vibrant campuses and state-of-the-art facilities. There's no better way to see firsthand what sets Deakin apart from other universities.

How do I plan for Campus Open Day?

Once you’ve registered, you can start planning an action-packed day with our Campus Open Day planner. You can browse and save events that interest you, including course information sessions, tours, general topics or experiences. Then on the day you can simply log in on your phone, click 'My plan' and see your personal itinerary, all in one place.

What’s a course information session?

It’s an engaging half-hour session hosted by a course expert or member of the teaching staff. You’ll learn everything you need to know about a specific study area or course, including entry requirements, fees, majors, units, specialisations and future career opportunities. What topics will be covered?

Pretty much everything! There will be a bunch of general topics and course information sessions that give you a glimpse into what it’s like studying at Deakin. Or you can experience the vibe for yourself with tours, activities and demonstrations. Will I be able to see the facilities?

Explore our campuses and state-of-the-art facilities in person with our student-led tours. You’ll experience the unique vibe at each campus, including checking out study area spaces, cutting-edge facilities and equipment, library tours and more. There are also accommodation tours available on the day if you’re interested in living on campus.

Where do I go on the day?

We recommend you start your day at our career and course information booths, where you can chat to academics and study experts about studying at Deakin. Or you can take a tour of the campus departing from Union Green every 30 minutes. The best way to make the most out of Campus Open Day is to register an account so you can save events that interest you to your plan. Then you can simply log in and click 'My plan' to see a full itinerary of saved events, all in one place. You can also refer to our campus map.

Parking on the day?

Parking at our Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus is free and parking locations are outlined on the campus map.  You can find out more information about parking on campus here. There is a free shuttle bus running every 30 minutes to our Geelong Waterfront Campus on the day if you want to see what both our Geelong-based campuses have to offer.
