More than 7500 people attended Deakin’s Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus Open Day, gathering information on courses and getting involved in some really fun activities. Here’s just a taste of what was on offer.

Open Day visitors had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Deakin University's interactive virtual reality experience, where they adopted the persona of a forensic science student tasked with finding Deakin's missing robot, Pixel.
3D printers from Makerbots, large-scale Stratasys were in action printing 3D objects with a variety of materials such as plastic, silicon and titanium.
Rueben Stone, Woodluck and the Pierce Brothers performed some live music to Open Day visitors to enjoy as a break from the information sessions and campus tours.
Leading scientists at Deakin University demonstrated some fundamental chemistry concepts in a fun and engaging way.
High voltage electrical testing were available to Open Day visitors to utlisise and be dazzled by tangible lightning bolts.

V/Line trains run every seventy minutes from Southern Cross railway station from 7.50 am. Once you arrive at Geelong railway station, hop on the free and accessible Deakin Open Day shuttle bus to make your way to the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus.
V/Line trains or coaches run from many regional centres, including Ballarat, Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road.
Well, choosing a university can sometimes be tricky but Deakin Open Day gives you a glimpse into what it’s like to be a student. Plus, there’s heaps of fun stuff, free entertainment and great food between the information sessions.
